About the role

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be a key technical specialist supporting our energy and material recovery facilities. This hybrid role combines office-based engineering with hands-on site support, working across multiple locations to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performing electrical systems.

You'll spend around 40% of your time travelling across the UK, providing both project and operational support to our plants.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering technical expertise in electrical design, HV systems, and instrumentation & control (I&C) within industrial and power-generating environments
• Supporting the full project lifecycle, including specifications, design reviews, system modelling (ETAP/Trimble), commissioning, and troubleshooting
• Improving operational reliability, compliance, and performance across multiple facilities
• Acting as a technical authority for breakdowns, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Providing hands-on engineering support across sites as required

What we're looking for

• Background in electrical engineering within process, power, electrical design, or heavy industry
• HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering (degree preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
• Demonstrable experience in electrical design and technical engineering roles
• Strong understanding of high-voltage systems (11kV); previous HV authorisation is advantageous
• Project management experience
• Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and control systems
• Hands-on, practical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience using electrical design and system modelling software
