The Junior Process Engineer will join the Process Technology & Validation team, part of the Global Engineering function, contributing to the development, industrialization and innovation of manufacturing processes for APIs and medicinal products.
The team's mission is to translate process innovation into reliable, industrial-scale solutions-supporting new product introduction, capacity expansion, and sustainability improvement across Bracco's manufacturing network.
This is a unique opportunity to enter a highly technical, CAPEX-intensive environment, working at the intersection of process engineering, validation, and industrial strategy, with real exposure to complex manufacturing systems early in your career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to process engineering activities within cross-functional project teams, supporting:
    • continuous improvement, sustainability and reliability initiatives
    • major investment projects aimed at capacity expansion, new technologies and new products
  • Provide process engineering input during project execution phases, including:
    • HAZOP studies
    • 3D model and layout reviews
    • technical evaluation of suppliers' bids.
  • Develop and design new or improved process technologies and support their scale-up from lab to pilot and industrial scale, ensuring effective and structured technology transfer to Bracco or CDMO manufacturing sites, collaborating with Local/Global R&D as needed
  • Support the definition of process validation strategies, sterility assurance approaches, and quality risk assessments in collaboration with Quality Assurance.
  • Participate in commissioning and qualification activities (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ) for production facilities and automation systems.
  • Support the start-up and ramp-up of new manufacturing lines and help resolve process-related operational issues across manufacturing sites.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry.
  • Solid fundamentals in hydraulics, thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and basic chemistry.
  • Strong analytical mindset, organizational skills and teamwork-oriented.
  • Fluency in Italian and English (both mandatory)
  • Availability to travel to production sites and suppliers' workshops (up to ~40%)
  • Previous work or internship experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

Preferred Skills/Nice to Haves
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and process evaluation
  • Familiarity with process simulation tools (e.g. Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, SuperPro Designer)
  • Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, heat & mass balances
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and operating within a highly regulated environment
