The Children and Families Department takes a strengths-based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'. Watch the two minute animation to learn more.
Do you have the necessary educational expertise and experience to provide support and guidance to the alternative education sector in relation to both curriculum and safeguarding ?
Could you help to promote positive attendance, personal well-being academic outcomes and effective safeguarding for those pupils who need the small group intervention of an alternative provision provider?
The Local Authority are seeking a Lead officer to work in close partnership with safeguarding, commissioning, and education access teams to ensure that all partners work effectively together to support pupils in alternative provision and to return them to mainstream education as soon as they are ready to do so.
You will need to promote good practice and respond to any concerns raised about the quality of provision or safeguarding - acting in partnership with other agencies if necessary. You will also be required to analyse data and present reports to senior officers and County Councillors. This is an exciting, cross phase, County wide post that allows hybrid working but will require you to visit alternative provision settings.
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.
Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
