Senior Piping Field Engineer

Location: Perth, Western Australia (Onshore)
Roster: 2 Weeks On / 1 Week Off
Contract Type: Permanent / Contract

Overview
An established engineering and construction organisation is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to support onshore construction and commissioning activities. This role provides hands-on involvement with mechanical and piping works, acting as the on-site technical authority and focal point for all piping-related matters.

The position offers exposure to large-scale projects, working closely with construction teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of works.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for piping technical and construction queries

• Review mechanical and piping works for compliance with contractual requirements, relevant codes, and good engineering practice

• Prepare requisitions, conduct bid evaluations, and manage procurement of piping materials

• Develop and manage scopes of work for subcontractors delivering mechanical and piping works

• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors providing piping and mechanical goods and services

• Manage close-out documentation to ensure full traceability and accurate project records

• Conduct regular site visits, including travel to remote locations as required

• Support commissioning activities, including pressure testing, line cleaning, and other piping commissioning tasks

• Provide assistance with HVAC management as required

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a piping engineering role

• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3

• Hands-on experience in construction and commissioning of piping systems

• Experience managing piping procurement packages and subcontracts

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act as technical authority on site

• End-to-end project experience through construction and commissioning
