Senior Piping Field Engineer
Location: Perth, Western Australia (Onshore)
Roster: 2 Weeks On / 1 Week Off
Contract Type: Permanent / Contract
Overview
An established engineering and construction organisation is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to support onshore construction and commissioning activities. This role provides hands-on involvement with mechanical and piping works, acting as the on-site technical authority and focal point for all piping-related matters.
The position offers exposure to large-scale projects, working closely with construction teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of works.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for piping technical and construction queries

Review mechanical and piping works for compliance with contractual requirements, relevant codes, and good engineering practice

Prepare requisitions, conduct bid evaluations, and manage procurement of piping materials

Develop and manage scopes of work for subcontractors delivering mechanical and piping works

Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors providing piping and mechanical goods and services

Manage close-out documentation to ensure full traceability and accurate project records

Conduct regular site visits, including travel to remote locations as required

Support commissioning activities, including pressure testing, line cleaning, and other piping commissioning tasks

Provide assistance with HVAC management as required
Essential Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or equivalent

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a piping engineering role

Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3

Hands-on experience in construction and commissioning of piping systems

Experience managing piping procurement packages and subcontracts

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act as technical authority on site

End-to-end project experience through construction and commissioning
