What will be your missions and responsibilities?

The Offshore Installation Project Engineer is responsible for the preparation and follow-up of offshore installation operations for subsea structures and cable-type equipment (flexible flowlines, umbilicals, risers, mooring lines and associated hardware).

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Being involved from tender and FEED phases to identify installation constraints and risks and propose robust installation concepts and methods.
  • Preparing and reviewing method statements, installation sequences, deck layouts and preliminary engineering notes for subsea installation and lifting operations.
  • Performing targeted engineering calculations (lifting, rigging, basic installation checks) and coordinating advanced analyses with internal or external specialists.
  • Defining and managing outsourced engineering or testing studies, including scopes of work and technical review of deliverables.
  • Developing and validating project-specific procedures: offshore lifting, overboarding, lowering, subsea positioning, tie-in, transportation and on-site testing.
  • Supporting project teams and offshore operations during vessel mobilization and installation campaigns, including offshore attendance when required.
  • Interfacing with internal stakeholders (project management, structural design, marine operations, procurement, fabrication) and external parties (clients, suppliers, subcontractors).
  • Contributing to HSEQ reviews (risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP where relevant) and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Proposing innovative technical solutions to optimize safety, schedule and cost, particularly for African offshore projects.
  • Sharing know-how and lessons learned within the installation methods team and supporting junior engineers.

What profile and skills are required for the Offshore Installation Project Engineer position?

Education
  • Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Civil, Offshore or related discipline).

Experience
  • Proven experience in offshore installation projects, ideally involving cable-type equipment (flexible flowlines, umbilicals, risers).
  • Experience with subsea structures installation and/or mooring systems is a strong advantage.
  • Prior involvement in tender phases and early project definition is required.
  • Experience on African offshore projects is highly appreciated.

Skills
  • Good understanding of offshore vessels, lifting operations and marine equipment.
  • Ability to perform focused engineering calculations and manage specialist studies.
  • Strong autonomy, organization skills and ability to manage multiple interfaces.
  • Team player with experience in multicultural environments.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work offshore for short periods when required.
