EngineeringProject Manager
Are you considering your next career move and looking to play a key role in the offshore renewable energy sector? An established player within offshore wind services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support and deliver complex service projects within renewables. This is a partly remote role, offering flexibility while working on a major offshore wind project in Northern Europe.
If you enjoy leading technically and commercially complex projects and want to contribute directly to the energy transition, this could be a strong next step for you.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take ownership of one or more offshore service projects within the renewable energy portfolio. These projects range from long-term service and maintenance contracts to repair and modification scopes on offshore wind assets, particularly offshore substations and balance of plant installations.
You will manage projects end-to-end, covering all phases from early tendering and planning through execution, delivery, and close-out. Working closely with
multidisciplinary project teams, you will ensure safe, efficient, and contract-compliant delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
This role involves limited travel (approx. 10%) and offers a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and internal service stakeholders
• Lead project execution as well as quotation and tender activities
• Define, clarify, and manage project scopes and work packages
• Prepare job documentation, schedules, and risk assessments
• Maintain technical and commercial responsibility for project delivery
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations
• Support after-sales activities and identify opportunities for follow-on work
Your Background
To succeed in this role, you are an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable taking ownership and driving progress in complex offshore environments. You combine a structured mindset with flexibility and are confident navigating both client-facing and technical discussions.
You thrive in a role where leadership, accountability, and collaboration are essential, and where safety and quality are never compromised.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, ideally within offshore or renewable energy projects
• Higher technical education (engineering or similar)
• Fluent German is mandatory, with strong professional English skills
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and stakeholders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
What You Can Expect
You will join a collaborative and safety-focused environment that values professionalism, teamwork, and flexibility. The organization promotes a positive working culture where people support one another, share knowledge, and take pride in delivering high-quality offshore solutions.
By joining, you’ll contribute directly to the continued development and operation of offshore wind infrastructure, helping turn energy transition ambitions into real-world results.
Our role in supporting diversity and inclusion
As an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group. We welcome the wide range of experiences and viewpoints that potential workers bring to our business and our clients, including those based on nationality, gender, culture, educational and professional backgrounds, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, and age differences, job classification and religion.
