THE ROLE
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary group, where people with different backgrounds collaborate, each with their own expertise, to support IIT research activity.
The Rehab Technologies Lab (https://rehab.iit.it/it/) is coordinated by Matteo Laffranchi, who has extensive experience in the development of innovative high-tech robotic solutions for patients with physical impairment.

The Rehab Technologies Lab (https://rehab.iit.it/it/) is coordinated by Matteo Laffranchi, who has extensive experience in the development of innovative high-tech robotic solutions for patients with physical impairment.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Design and optimization of 3D/2D models of robot parts and assemblies.
- Development and assembly of robot prototypes.
- Interaction with workshops and evaluation of manufacturers and suppliers of nonstandard parts.
- Collaboration with other engineering disciplines (electronics, biomedical, robotics, software) to ensure the successful integration of their designs with the rest of the system.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
- Documented experience in Mechanism design and construction.
- Excellent CAD design skills.
- Mechanical assembly maintenance with versioning system (Windchill or similar)
- Good hands-on skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Good knowledge of the English language
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong focus on stakeholder needs and expectations
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Experience in Design for manufacturing
- Design experience, preferably in industrial R&D environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of design software tools.
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
- Possess analytical reasoning skills and a growth mindset
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- Private health care coverage
- Candidate holding a bachelor's or master's degree who have not been resident in Italy in the last 3 years and move back to Italy to start any work activity, and meet specific requirements, can benefit from a 50% deduction on their income.
