THE ROLE

You will be working in a multi-disciplinary group, where people with different backgrounds collaborate, each with their own expertise, to support IIT research activity.

The Rehab Technologies Lab (https://rehab.iit.it/it/) is coordinated by Matteo Laffranchi, who has extensive experience in the development of innovative high-tech robotic solutions for patients with physical impairment.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

• Design and optimization of 3D/2D models of robot parts and assemblies.
• Development and assembly of robot prototypes.
• Interaction with workshops and evaluation of manufacturers and suppliers of nonstandard parts.
• Collaboration with other engineering disciplines (electronics, biomedical, robotics, software) to ensure the successful integration of their designs with the rest of the system.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• A master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
• Documented experience in Mechanism design and construction.
• Excellent CAD design skills.
• Mechanical assembly maintenance with versioning system (Windchill or similar)
• Good hands-on skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Good knowledge of the English language
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong focus on stakeholder needs and expectations

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Experience in Design for manufacturing
• Design experience, preferably in industrial R&D environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of design software tools.
• Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
• Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
• Possess analytical reasoning skills and a growth mindset

• Private health care coverage
• Candidate holding a bachelor's or master's degree who have not been resident in Italy in the last 3 years and move back to Italy to start any work activity, and meet specific requirements, can benefit from a 50% deduction on their income.
