Role Summary

This contract role supports the Royal Navy's Type 23 Frigate programme, working primarily on mechanical engineering activities across acquisition and in-service support. The post holder will apply core mechanical engineering principles to assure safe, effective and supportable maritime capability within a highly regulated MOD environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering advice and assurance in support of Type 23 Frigate systems
• Support generation and review of technical requirements, documentation and artefacts
• Manage and assess mechanical designs, modifications and in-service support activities
• Apply relevant legislation, standards and MOD policy to ensure safety, quality and compliance
• Identify, manage and escalate technical and safety risks appropriately
• Support verification, validation and acceptance activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors and delivery teams across the acquisition lifecycle

Essential Experience and Qualifications

• Mechanical or Mechatronic engineering background
• Experience providing technical advice and delivering mechanical engineering outcomes
• Experience working within regulated engineering environments
• STEM qualification at RQF Level 4 or above, or equivalent
• Professional registration (EngTech / RSciTech / MarEngTech) or higher, or RQF Level 6 qualification
