Fourblue are seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a UK Power Networks (UKPN) contract. The company we have teamed up with are a key partner on the UKPN Alliance, their team is responsible for delivering essential substation build and refurbishment works, spanning design, installation, commissioning, and more, across the East of England.
You'll be working within a dedicated team responsible for testing and commissioning high-voltage plant and equipment across 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV distribution networks. Your efforts will directly contribute to the seamless integration of this equipment into the live distribution network, including integration with existing protection schemes.

Responsibilities of the Commissioning Engineer:
- Provide expert technical support to project teams throughout the commissioning process
- Attend client meetings, audits, and progress reviews as required to ensure project success
- Promote innovation and cost-effective practices across the project lifecycle
- Identify and resolve design issues on-site, ensuring compliance with Distribution Network Operator standards
- Develop and produce detailed Commissioning Plans to ensure efficient execution
- Safely test and commission high-voltage plant and apparatus across various network voltages
- Test and commission alarm and control systems
- Review and, where necessary, amend scheme-provided drawings to ensure accuracy
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, enhancing their technical capabilities and understanding
- Ensure all plant and equipment meets current legislation and safety standards
- Proven track record in testing and commissioning on high-voltage distribution networks (11kV, 33kV, and 132kV) with any DNO
- Ability to identify areas for process improvements and drive operational efficiency
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation
- HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification, with candidates holding other recognised qualifications considered based on experience
