Profile

The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Systems (ICSS) Engineer to join a major international energy infrastructure development in East Africa. This is a site-based role supporting maintenance, reliability, and operational readiness across complex pipeline and terminal facilities. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of instrumentation, ICSS, metering, and telecom systems during operations and the early years of production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and reliability activities for ICSS, instrumentation, metering, and telecom systems
• Review and optimise contractor maintenance strategies and execution plans
• Monitor system performance, KPIs, and reliability metrics to maximise plant availability
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting major failures and corrective actions
• Manage lifecycle, obsolescence, and cybersecurity aspects of control systems
• Oversee stock strategy and repair workflows to ensure equipment availability
• Act as discipline focal point across contractors, vendors, and site teams
• Support CMMS implementation, data integrity, and reporting
• Participate in audits, contractor performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure full compliance with HSE standards and operational safety requirements

Candidate Profile

• Engineering degree (Instrumentation, Control Systems, or equivalent)
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or large industrial facilities
• Strong background in ICSS maintenance, instrumentation reliability, and metering systems
• Knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial control systems
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance contracts
• Familiarity with CMMS and reliability reporting tools
• Strong analytical, organisational, and leadership capabilities
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
