This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will work as an Automation Engineer on medium to large automation projects, supporting the full lifecycle-from functional design and detailed engineering through implementation, testing, and commissioning.
You will act as a design authority for your engineering discipline, handling assignments on small projects or portions of larger ones in a cost‑effective and efficient manner.
You will design and implement technical batch applications primarily for Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Chemical industries.
The work model for the role is: hybrid (#LI-hybrid)

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will work as an Automation Engineer on medium to large automation projects, supporting the full lifecycle-from functional design and detailed engineering through implementation, testing, and commissioning.

You will design and implement technical batch applications primarily for Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Chemical industries.
The work model for the role is: hybrid (#LI-hybrid)
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Designing and implementing batch automation solutions based on ABB 800xA.
- Coordinating engineering activities from FEED through development, installation, and commissioning.
- Supporting project technical design and participating in clarification meetings.
- Collaborating across Software, Hardware, Documentation, and Validation disciplines.
- Preparing and executing FAT and SAT test plans.
- Providing technical support during testing, installation, startup, and commissioning of automated control systems.
- Supporting onsite and remote system maintenance and service work.
- Assisting with proposals and sales support for account managers.
- Utilizing checklists to perform design verification according to standards and engineering guidelines.
- Ensuring full adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software, Automation Engineering or related discipline.
- You have 4+ years of experience in automation, working on similar roles and projects.
- Experience with software validation and GAMP
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical automation projects or similar industries will be an asset
- Practical experience in startup and commissioning phases of automation projects
- Knowledge of ABB's 800xA DCS (preferred but not essential).
- Experience with automation connectivity to MES systems.
- Demonstrated ability to document work in compliance with ISO9001 and current GMP.
- Ability to collaborate with remote teams across multiple locations.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Solid organized, practical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Action‑oriented and takes initiative, able to manage one's own tasks and contribute as part of a team.
