The Commissioning Specialist (Maintenance Specialist) is responsible for ensuring operational readiness by developing and implementing maintenance strategies, reliability studies, and inspection procedures for new and existing assets. The role involves collaborating with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), engineering and reliability departments, and ensuring compliance with Vale standards and safety regulations. The OR Engineer will also oversee contract preparation, spare parts management, and maintenance procedure updates to optimize plant operations and reliability.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Prepare process documentation for Operational Readiness (OR) in compliance with PGS-006267, PNRs, and Vale Standards.
2. Register and orient the team on safety-related issues, including Near Miss (N3), Unsafe Conditions, and Process Safety, while conducting behavior dialogues during execution and commissioning.
3. Demonstrate technical expertise in discussions with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
4. Define the planning and execution of maintenance strategies for new assets and updates to existing maintenance strategies, ensuring alignment with internal engineering/reliability guidance and Vale standards.
5. Plan and execute the hibernation process for selected existing assets of VOPC.
6. Conduct reliability studies and implement actions derived from the analysis.
7. Develop and implement new inspection routes, including updates required due to project implementation.
8. Prepare Contract Scope of Work (SOW) for necessary services and evaluate technical proposals.
9. Define spare parts criticality based on warehouse costs, specification similarity, and operational reliability.
10. Update and maintain maintenance procedures as required.
11. Oversee all phases of Initial Control in accordance with Vale Oman Guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Pelletizing Process, project development, and engineering design.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of maintenance strategy planning and reliability analysis.
• Familiarity with Vale's PNRs, VPS requirements, and safety standards.
• Experience in developing inspection routes and contract scope of work (SOW).
• Ability to collaborate with OEMs and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership and team orientation.
• Excellent communication and technical negotiation skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to operational challenges.
