Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead multiple Brownfield modification and retrofit projects. The role involves planning, management, and execution in line with project management systems while ensuring compliance with Safety, Health, Environment (SHE), Quality, Cost, and Schedule requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams across onshore and offshore facilities and contribute to the development of project objectives and strategies.

The position requires strong coordination with internal engineering and operations teams as well as external stakeholders including contractors, regulatory authorities, and equipment vendors. This role is suited to a proactive engineer capable of working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high visibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct overall planning, management, and execution of Brownfield projects in line with company project management standards

  • Participate in strategy development, project concept selection, and planning, including risk assessments and cost/schedule screening

  • Lead Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities, converting operational requirements into Basic Engineering deliverables

  • Oversee Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phases, ensuring maintainability and operability requirements are incorporated

  • Apply Brownfield project planning and execution methodologies, interface management, quality management, and risk engineering

  • Review and support construction strategies, contractor performance, and ensure proper execution of onshore and offshore construction and shutdown activities

  • Coordinate schedule estimates, analyze critical paths, identify risks, and develop mitigation or contingency plans

  • Review and monitor project resources, costs, and forecasts, tracking trends and initiating corrective or recovery actions as needed

  • Support approvals of Invitation to Tender (ITT), including scope, technical and commercial evaluation, and vendor prequalification

  • Participate in SHE audits, safety walks, and ensure contractors comply with safety performance standards

  • Contribute to Qatarization initiatives by mentoring and developing Qatari employees

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in project execution, with broad exposure to engineering and operations environments

  • Recent field experience in Brownfield projects, Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS), or debottlenecking of operating facilities

  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects with strict deadlines

  • Advanced knowledge of relevant engineering software, tools, and systems

  • High proficiency in written and spoken English

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team environment

  • Demonstrated understanding of SHE, quality, cost, and schedule management in project delivery
