Overview
We are seeking a Telecom Engineer to provide technical support and ensure the reliability, availability, and maintenance of telecom and IT systems for a major industrial energy project. The role is responsible for supporting project execution, start-up, and operational readiness, ensuring compliance with technical and safety specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop operational readiness plans and monitor progress of telecom deliverables during project execution

• Ensure operational procedures are followed for installation, configuration, maintenance, and control of telecom and IT systems

• Implement routine maintenance, diagnostics, and lessons learned using appropriate tools and test equipment

• Support the use of telecom and IT infrastructure management tools for automation, testing, and deployment of systems

• Facilitate system completion activities including installation, removal, upgrade, and repair of telecom equipment during project phases

• Identify and resolve operational issues, diagnosing and addressing faults within agreed service levels

• Support early operations and start-up, troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions

• Assist with handover of telecom deliverables to the permanent IT/operations organisation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Experience and Knowledge

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sector

• Exposure to major telecom and IT systems including SDH, PDH, VHF, UHF TMR radio, marine and air-band systems, fibre and copper cabling, PABX, CCTV, security access control, and plant PA/GA systems

• Knowledge of telecom industry standards sufficient to compile technical specifications

• Experience in planning, budgeting, and working with contractors or suppliers
