Overview
We are seeking a Telecom Engineer to provide technical support and ensure the reliability, availability, and maintenance of telecom and IT systems for a major industrial energy project. The role is responsible for supporting project execution, start-up, and operational readiness, ensuring compliance with technical and safety specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Develop operational readiness plans and monitor progress of telecom deliverables during project execution

Ensure operational procedures are followed for installation, configuration, maintenance, and control of telecom and IT systems

Implement routine maintenance, diagnostics, and lessons learned using appropriate tools and test equipment

Support the use of telecom and IT infrastructure management tools for automation, testing, and deployment of systems

Facilitate system completion activities including installation, removal, upgrade, and repair of telecom equipment during project phases

Identify and resolve operational issues, diagnosing and addressing faults within agreed service levels

Support early operations and start-up, troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions

Assist with handover of telecom deliverables to the permanent IT/operations organisation
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Experience and Knowledge
-
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sector

Exposure to major telecom and IT systems including SDH, PDH, VHF, UHF TMR radio, marine and air-band systems, fibre and copper cabling, PABX, CCTV, security access control, and plant PA/GA systems

Knowledge of telecom industry standards sufficient to compile technical specifications

Experience in planning, budgeting, and working with contractors or suppliers
