Job Title: Senior Pipeline Design Engineer

Job Purpose

The Senior Pipeline Design Engineer will be responsible for leading pipeline design activities for oil & gas projects during FEED and Detailed Engineering phases. The role involves technical leadership, preparation and review of design deliverables, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and standards-compliant pipeline systems.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

• Lead pipeline design activities for onshore/offshore oil & gas projects.
• Perform pipeline routing studies and constructability assessments.
• Prepare and review:
  
  • Wall thickness calculations
  • Hydraulic calculations
  • Stress analysis reports
  • Pipeline alignment sheets
  • Material selection and specifications
  • Material Requisitions (MR) & Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE)
• Develop pipeline layouts, crossing details, and tie-in documentation.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (ASME, API, DNV, ISO) and client specifications.

FEED & Detailed Engineering

• Execute pipeline design during FEED stage including cost estimation and optimization.
• Support detailed engineering activities up to IFC (Issued for Construction) stage.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, design reviews, and model reviews.
• Interface with Civil, Mechanical, Process, and Instrumentation disciplines.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Review and approve design deliverables.
• Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams for technical clarifications.
• Support proposal engineering activities and manhour estimation.

Documentation & Deliverables

• Pipeline Design Basis
• Stress Analysis Reports (CAESAR II)
• Hydraulic Study Reports
• Alignment Sheets
• Isometrics
• MTO (Material Take-Off)
• Design Calculations & Technical Reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in oil & gas pipeline design.
• Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
• Experience in EPC environment preferred.
• Middle East project experience (ADNOC / QatarEnergy / Aramco projects) is an advantage.
