Manufacturing Process Engineer - 2nd Shift

We have experienced teams working in plasma, frame and wire spraying, polyurethane and sermetel painting as well as heat treating, brazing, and TIG welding operations. In addition to comprehensive internal engine repair/overhaul, we also operate a world- class evaluation and testing facility that's FEDEC capable.

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer for 2nd Shift will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient and high-quality engine component production. This role focuses on supporting operational excellence and maintaining production flow in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Define and control the production process, including tooling and equipment
  • Monitor and analyze existing manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, inspection, etc.) to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost
  • Develop, implement, and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions during 2nd shift operations
  • Collaborate with production teams, quality assurance, and design engineering to optimize product designs for manufacturability and resolve non-conformance issues
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and tooling to enhance production capabilities and reduce cycle times
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and process capability studies to identify and eliminate bottlenecks
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
  • Provide technical support and training to production operators and technicians on new and revised processes


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field and minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing / Production Process and equipment engineering role, preferably within an aerospace, automotive, or heavy industrial environment.

OR
  • A high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years experience in a manufacturing / Production Process and equipment engineering role, preferably within an aerospace, automotive, or heavy industrial environment.


Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing processes such as tooling, machining, welding, assembly, and inspection.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (certification preferred).
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) and Minitab or similar statistical analysis software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 2nd shift schedule (typically evening hours).
