Pre-Commissioning Field Engineer (Pipeline & Umbilical)

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced LCV Pre-Commissioning Field Engineer - Pipeline & Umbilical to join a world-class LNG development project.

About the Project
Mozambique LNG is a US $20 billion subsea-to-shore gas development including 18 subsea wells and a 12.88 MTPA onshore LNG facility. The project represents one of the largest energy investments in Africa, with extensive offshore and deepwater scope.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Pre-Commissioning Lead and interfacing with the EPCI Installation Manager, you will oversee and assure all pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning activities executed by contractors, both offshore and onshore.
This is a client-side assurance role requiring strong technical authority, offshore experience, and the ability to coordinate across installation, commissioning, HSE, and contractor teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise offshore pipeline pre-commissioning operations including:
  
  • Vacuum pull, MEG filling, flooding, cleaning, gauging
  • Pressure testing, dewatering, drying, nitrogen packing
  • Pigging operations, flooding caps & pig trap installation/recovery
• Oversee umbilical and optical fiber testing (pre/post-loadout, installation, hook-up)
• Act as Company focal point onboard vessels and at yards
• Review and approve test records, pressure charts, OTDR traces, pigging logs & calibration data
• Ensure compliance with COMPANY standards, project specifications & regulatory requirements
• Provide daily reports, risk assessments, deviation tracking & readiness dashboards
• Participate in HSE activities (Toolbox Talks, JSA, HIRA, SIMOPS)
• Contribute to lessons learned and close-out reports

Candidate Profile

• Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
• Minimum 10 years Oil & Gas experience
• Minimum 5 years offshore pre-commissioning experience (pipeline & umbilical systems)
• Strong knowledge of deepwater subsea production systems
• Familiar with DNV, API, ISO standards
• Ability to review P&IDs, isometrics, hydraulic profiles & CFD reports
• Previous operator/client experience preferred
• Valid BOSIET, OGUK, ENG1 and offshore medical
• Fluent English with strong coordination skills
• Flexible for international travel and offshore rotations
