Play a key role in overseeing the delivery of significant adult commissioning priorities.

Join our supportive team of Business Change Commissioning Managers and Lead Commissioners, to undertake commissioning and procurement exercises to support the delivery of the City's supported living and extra care housing strategy and the development of supported living accommodation across the city. Working on a range of connected key commissioning activities, you'll work across the authority to support these priorities.

This is a full-time, fixed term post for 12 months working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. However, we would consider part-time working which can be discussed at interview. Based at City Hall, you'll be expected to work from our offices at least 2 days a week, with Wednesday being the team day. You'll have flexibility to work remotely on other days during the week. You'll be required to attend regular team meetings online and in person within council offices.

What you'll be doing

With every day being different you'll work closely with a range of colleagues across the council. From Heads of Service to Procurement, Housing, Estates, Data and Legal colleagues. You will also develop working relationships with the housing sector from registered providers to developers of accommodation to support our vision to develop good quality accommodation for the people we support.

Building strong, positive relationships, understanding the challenges and complexity of the environment, particularly with regarding to the development of supported living and extra care services and the interdependencies across the local authority. You'll participating in, as necessary, a range of local, regional and partnership meetings and on project meetings including having Chairing responsibilities.

You'll be deeply involved with researching and reviewing leading projects including meetings, drafting report and specification development and reviews. Developing key documentation to support decisions along with guiding colleagues with less experience and knowledge.

What you'll need

With experience in commissioning services. Including service reviews, procurement or change management. You'll be confident in producing reports with clear and detailed analysis. Shaping them for your audience.

Using this knowledge to collaborate with team members and services more widely. Guiding team members and having a flexible approach, while leading complex and challenging pieces of work. Having a real part in the departments future work and direction in relation to developing accommodation
