Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Field Engineer located in Homer City, PA.  This is set to commence around April 1st, 2026  and is expected to last approximately 1 year.

Project Name: Homer City

Position Required: Civil Field Engineer
Start Date: April 1st, 2026  
Project Duration: Approximately 1 year
Working Hours: 40 hours Mon-Fri with high possibilities of going to 60-72 depending on the needs of the project.

Role
The main duty of the Civil Field Engineer is to answer any query from the Partner related to civil documents and/or drawings issued by our client and provide recommendations. The Civil Field Engineer will take the necessary diligence, competence, and care according to the industrial practice but shall in no case interfere or relieve the Partner of their duties and responsibilities in the quality management, performance, progress, and supervision of the Partner’s scope of work. In particular, the fulfilment of time schedule, quality and Project requirements remain under the responsibility of the Partner.  The mission of this position is to provide technical support and advice to partner’s civil construction activity at site with focus to quality and safety.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Civil Field Engineer responds to Technical Queries and provides technical advice to the Construction Partner in relation to the Work Units where our client is responsible for the Civil Design or for embedment /equipment supplied by our client.
  • Civil Field Engineer checks that the civil construction activity performed by the Partner is carried out in compliance with our client specifications and Project Requirements and propose recommendations & correction actions in case of gaps.
  • The Civil Field Engineer strictly observes and implements the company and Project EHS policy and rules.
  • The Civil Field Engineer supports in matters pertaining to the execution of civil works for the Work Units where our client is responsible for the Civil Design or for embedment /equipment supplied by our client (like for instance HRSG, Gas Turbine generator and Steam Turbine generator).

The Civil Field Engineer shall be entitled (for the scope described above):
  • To check that the execution of the works has been properly controlled by the Partner and their subcontractor in accordance with consortium agreement
  • To review and comment on the partner’s construction quality procedures (Turn over process, inspection and test plans, method statement, risk assessment, etc)
  • To witness and sign the agreed inspection points listed in the relevant Inspection and Test Plans.
  • To check that all deviations are properly reported
  • To report to management any site activity for which deviation will be deemed unacceptable.
  • To participate to Partner’s CTO process
  • To access to Partner Quality documentation and check/verify that partner’s construction work activities are in compliance with the project and quality requirements

In addition to that, the Civil Field Engineer shall:
  • Proactively provide to the partner’s early advice for incorrect work
  • Support the site material coordinator to ensure that embedment is delivered at time
  • Provide technical recommendation/resolution with our clien tengineering support using GE’s reporting system tools
  • Follow up the execution of engineering changes at site
  • Provide to the Site Manager, Site Planner and Site Quality Manager all necessary inputs and support to prepare the required reports
  • Verify that the partner properly implements the Civil Red Marked Up (as built) process and verify the red-correx/red-marked drawing is in order
  • Attend to the Civil Turnover and verify completion of Works; identify and observations of Punch items as applicable
  • Issue end of assignment report and provide feedback on Lessons Learned
  • To Stop work in case of unsafe behavior and promptly report to the site mgmt. in case of deviation from the technical requirements
  • Submit the NCR and/or observations in case of quality issues at site related to our clients scope of work using our client’s reporting system tools
  • Submit ER Case to Engineering if required

Required Qualifications
  • Good technical knowledge of Gas Power Plants business, products and processes.
  • Preferred minimum 10 years relevant work experience in a similar role, preferable within power industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
