Your Role

• We are looking to recruit a Design Engineering Manager to join our Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) Enhancements team, helping secure and to deliver £ multi-Million rail infrastructure projects and programmes of works across the portfolio.
• The role includes the integration and co-ordination of the technical design and delivery. The Engineering Manager will be appointed as the Contractors Engineering Manager for Design (CEM) in accordance with Network Rail Standard NR/L2/INI/02009, Engineering Management for Projects and will be expected to deliver the accountabilities and responsibilities for this role as defined within this standard. Travel can be expected within the role to be present in AtkinsRéalis, project and client offices depending on project requirements.

About you

• Ensuring design is defined and delivered in accordance with appropriate guidance, standards, and client requirements.
• Proposing and agreeing Design CRE appointments.
• Being the single point of contact for all strategic technical matters for region.
• Identifying, managing, and reporting on key technical risks.
• Support the win work process in technical bid management and securing future opportunities and growth.
• Ensuring Safety is maintained and promoted along with promoting the highest standards of safety at site.
• Overseeing a range of projects, managing multiple demands and stakeholders at a given time.
• Significant relevant industry experience in the design of major construction and/or infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of relevant Network Rail Standards where applicable.
• Strong client and industry connections to harness future opportunities and growth.
• Able to establish and build relationships with suppliers, client/contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Good communication, teamwork, negotiation, conflict management and leadership skills.
• Degree qualified or holds equivalent experience / transferable skills.
• Professionally qualified in their core field.

Security clearance
