Senior Commissioning Engineer (275kV HV Substations) Location: Beauly, Scotland Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on 275kV high-voltage substations in Beauly, Scotland. This role will focus on the safe and efficient delivery of commissioning works across primary and secondary systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for 275kV HV substations Manage the interface and integration of: Power transformers HV switchgear Protection and control systems Auxiliary systems Carry out functional testing, fault finding, and system validation Ensure all activities are performed in line with safety regulations and project procedures Liaise with project teams, site personnel, and stakeholders to ensure smooth commissioning delivery Produce and maintain accurate commissioning documentation and reports Requirements Minimum 10 years' experience in HV substation commissioning Proven experience working on 275kV transmission-level projects Strong knowledge of protection, control, and primary plant systems CAT3 Authorisation (essential) Ability to lead commissioning activities independently on site Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
