Hiring: Piping Material Specialist Engineer (Technical Bid Evaluation) – Short Term role

Location: Dubai

We are seeking an experienced Piping Material Specialist Engineer to support one of our client for their engineering and procurement teams with a strong focus on Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for piping bulk materials, valves, and special items. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who can work independently and deliver high‑quality technical evaluations and vendor coordination.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• 10–15 years of EPC or Oil & Gas experience with strong TBE expertise.
• In‑depth knowledge of piping bulk materials, valves, and relevant standards.
• Strong vendor communication & documentation review skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience in FEED/EPC environments is essential.
• Prior consultancy or part‑time engineering experience is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct TBEs for piping materials, valves, fittings, and special items.
• Review vendor offers for compliance with project specs and international standards (ASME/ASTM/API/MSS/NACE).
• Prepare TBE comparison sheets and highlight deviations.
• Issue and review technical clarifications (TQs).
• Validate materials, P–T ratings, testing requirements, coatings/linings, and sour service suitability.
• Provide technical input for vendor selection.
• Review post‑order vendor documents (datasheets, BOQs, ITPs, MTCs).
• Support technical discussions with vendors as needed.
