Job Description Summary

To provide safe, reliable, and efficient electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services on site, ensuring minimum downtime, compliance with regulations, and support to operations and projects.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Maintenance

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and wiring on site.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions on distribution boards, lighting, motors, control panels, and site services.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) in line with maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Carry out minor project works such as new circuit installations, equipment hook‑ups, and modifications.


Safety & Compliance

  • Work in full compliance with local regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct testing and inspection of electrical installations; complete test results, certificates, and reports.
  • Ensure safe isolation of circuits and equipment, following lock-out/tag-out and permit-to-work processes.
  • Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, and near misses; contribute to site safety improvements.


Operations Support

  • Respond to breakdowns, prioritizing work to minimize production downtime.
  • Liaise with affected stakeholders to plan and coordinate electrical work.
  • Provide technical support and advice on electrical issues, upgrades, and energy efficiency.


Documentation & Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out, materials used, and time spent via the Maximo CMMS system.
  • Update electrical drawings, schematics, and asset registers as modifications are made.
  • Support audits and inspections by providing documentation and technical information.


Facilities team support

  • Support the Facilities team with fire alarm testing, emergency response and activities to support the business.


Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering
  • C&G 2382 18th Edition
  • Experience in an industrial, commercial, or construction environment
  • Valid driving licence


Desired:

  • C&G 2391 inspection and testing course

  • Strong fault-finding, installation, testing, and inspection skills
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, risk assessments, permits, and isolation
  • Ability to diagnose faults quickly and propose effective, long-term solutions
  • Clear written and verbal communication with supervisors, colleagues, and contractors
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a multi‑discipline team
  • Good planning, prioritization, and time‑management skills
  • Basic use of email, maintenance systems, and digital documentation
