JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer with strong Offshore and Onshore (downstream/refinery) experience to support the delivery of engineering projects and sub‑projects. The role ensures delivery excellence through robust control of scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk.

The Senior Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and delivery of small projects or specific work scopes within larger projects. The role requires solid technical understanding, proven project delivery skills, and the ability to manage interfaces across multi‑discipline teams.

You will ensure the project is executed safely, efficiently, on budget, and in alignment with Wood and client standards.

• Support development of project proposals, plans, schedules, budgets, staffing needs, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate and monitor progress against defined scope, cost, and schedule; identify and support corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation: execution plans, org charts, progress reports, S‑curves, meeting minutes, action logs, etc.
• Support change management: identify scope changes, validate impacts, and follow approval process.
• Interface with clients, internal teams, and suppliers; attend and contribute to customer and progress meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review contractor quotations, technical submissions, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Assist in risk identification, mitigation tracking, and HSSE compliance.
• Capture lessons learned and ensure deliverable quality.
• Lead a small team of technical/professional staff, usually from one office.
• Support team performance, clarify objectives, and promote a safe and collaborative working culture.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to support delivery.
• Act as day‑to‑day coordinator between engineering, procurement, construction, and support functions.
• Ensure effective communication of project information to the client and internal team.
• Flag early warning signs of delays or cost deviations to the Project Manager and propose solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline.

• 5-8 years of project delivery experience within Offshore, Onshore, downstream, or refinery environments.
  Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, and reporting.

• Familiarity with project management processes: initiation, change control, risk management, quality standards, and project close‑out.
• Experience with estimates, cost tracking, invoicing basics, and contract awareness.
• Knowledge of WBS, critical path, task logic, and engineering/construction workflows.
• Proficient in project control tools and electronic document management systems.
• Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, able to follow procedures, and committed to safe project delivery.
