We are working with a major European engineering company who are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer on a contract basis to support on a large pharmaceutical project in the Copenhagen area.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned Senior Automation Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in designing, implementing and optimising automation systems within pharma or related industries.


Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Coding: Develop Functional Specifications (FS), HMI screens, and DCS application coding based on design guidelines - GAMP and ISA S88 standards
• Project Execution: Lead or assist in automation phases, including conceptual, basic, and detailed design, to deliver on-time, high-quality solutions.
• Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q): Perform testing and verification of equipment to meet regulatory and end-user requirements.
• Technical Coordination: Interact with experts in MES, instrumentation, and production equipment, coordinating with cross-functional teams (Process/Mech/EI).

Required Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: 8+ years in pharmaceutical or similar highly regulated industrial automation.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as ABB 800xA (Control Builder, Hardware/Software), or similar systems.
