The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for the planning and operational support of the Well Services Group. This includes rigless solutions for intermediate to complex wells or projects on a regional basis. The role will mainly apply only technically during the initial sale process of any project to provide a suitable and viable technical solution that can be delivered within the stipulated time. Afterwards, the role will spearhead operational project planning and execution in coordination with the Country Operations team. The engineer will work closely with the Applications and Sales focal points to ensure delivery of an operation for the client in a time. The Well Services Technical Support Engineer will work under the supervision of the MENA Product Line Manager and guidance of Senior Application Engineer.

Responsibilities:
  • Support our Health Safety and Environment policies. Safety Always - Rules to Live By.
  • Familiar and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Managing all aspects of project preparation and proposals for Well Services operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring Weatherford best practices are adhered to in all technical proposals and programs.
  • Provide engineering support to operations from the office & travel to the field for execution where needed.
  • Coordinate Well Service projects in the field when required.
  • Support and/or conduct HAZID/HAZOP, DWOP, and well planning meetings.
  • Keep track of lessons learned and it's applications in following operations.
  • Prepare operating procedures using standard SOPs in accordance with the type of operation.
  • Follow up all critical and strategic regional Well Services jobs in real time and optimise overall performance. Contact WFT representatives in the operations and optimise the Well Services process if required by making software calculations and recommendations based on well monitoring.
  • Keep constant communications with customers during and updating jobs with the results
  • Travel to field for delivering strategically critical field projects or operations.
  • Prepare Real Result, technical papers and presentations for the client as needed.
  • Perform Field Engineer and/or other field-related role when requested by management (Regional), including but not limited to operating the system.
  • Preparation and delivery of technical presentations, engineering studies, end of well reports, etc.
  • Keep updated on other Weatherford products and services that could help the operator to optimise their drilling/completion/ rigless process.
  • Complete all competency requirements identified by Global and Regional Management. At the discretion of management (Regional), it may be required to complete training required to become Qualified Competency Assessor and perform competency assessments on Well Services personnel when required.
  • Perform all duties regarding Well Services and Weatherford assigned by management or supervisors within the physical demand of the job description
  • You have to be eligible to work in Egypt without a visa


Required:

  • 5+ years experience as a Field Engineer or equivalent with Artificial Lift or Well Services experience is required
  • Ability and willingness to learn through a structured development program which includes internal and external courses, external certifications and practical on the job training (both office and field).
  • Proven English language communication skills required (both oral and written).
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a positive attitude
  • Proven time and project management skills
  • Lead technical works, attended by clients and personnel, aimed at analysing and mitigating risks
  • Job project or support experience in minimum 2 projects
  • Onshore and Offshore exposure.
  • Experience with job planning and execution as standalone personnel.


Preferred:

  • Onshore and Offshore exposure.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Petroleum preferred) from an accredited university
