Major accountabilities of Position:

• An experienced and highly skilled Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer to oversee detail Engineering of the instrumentation and control systems for major offshore oil and gas project. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and advanced control systems and instrumentation equipment in complex, large-scale projects. This position requires deep technical knowledge and the capacity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery meets industry standards and specifications.
• The candidate shall have high technical knowledge and proven experience of delivering offshore detail Engineering projects (both green field and Brownfield) involving processing platforms and Well Head Towers.
• Interaction with vendors, review and evaluation of vendor offer and preparation of TBEs for ICSS and other Instrumentation equipment/items in major projects. Candidate shall have experience of generating/reviewing all the engineering documents.
• Develop discipline work plans. Overall supervision of I&C engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project and development of project deliverables. Having experience of Workshare with support offices.
• Provide technical expertise and support in the specification, design, and selection of instruments, controllers, and control systems.
• Manage all aspects of instrumentation and control engineering on assigned projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource planning and risk management.
• Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework. Work closely with Lead engineer, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and timely completion of the project.
• Oversee the preparation of design deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Effective interaction with client engineering team for approval of design deliverables.
• Represent organizational competency and capabilities at various forums.
• Offshore design of Control room, Local Equipment Room (LER) in the offshore Oil & Gas project. Instrumentation and Control System design for the assigned project interacting with other disciplines, client and vendors as required. Design of ICSS, F&G, ESD.
• Experience in the production, design, evaluation and specification of I&C equipment and automation systems, package items and I&C bulk items including cabling in detailed design packages List.
• Development of I&C specifications, data sheets, Instrumentation & Control System Philosophy, Control System Architecture, Instrument Adequacy Report , Instrument Index , I&C Cable Block Diagrams , I&C Equipment.
• Schedules, I/O list, SIL Assessment Report, Instrument Sizing Calculations, Instrument Loop Diagrams , Instrument Hook-up Drawings Layout drawings, wiring details, Equipment sizing, I&C MTO.
• Experience in Preparing Material requisition , Scope of Works, review of offers, technical clarifications, & Technical Bid Evaluations for all I&C items such as ICSS, Field Instruments, Valves, Transmitters, Mechanical and other Package items and Bulk materials.
• Experience in working in SPI & Aveva Instrumentation. 3D modelling activities related to Instrumentations.
• Experience in preparation of Modification Scope of Work for Existing Control Systems.
• Participation in site survey and data collection for Instrumentation design.
• Participation in various Workshops such as Design reviews, HAZOP, SIL, Risk review, Energy Optimization review, Value engineering, constructability & other workshops.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements of both self and within the discipline team
• Ensuring technical integrity of the Instrumentation deliverables for the project. In particular ensure compliance with the work scope and with applicable international standards.
• Work on proposals and prepare MH estimation.

Knowledge / Experience / Competencies Required:

• Job Specific Knowledge: Experience in execution of FEED and Detail Engineering for Oil and Gas projects.
  • Perform detail engineering and procurement activities.
  • Preparation/review of all I&C Engineering deliverables such as I&C specifications, data sheets, Instrumentation & Control System Philosophy, Control System Architecture, Instrument Adequacy Report , Instrument Index , I&C Cable Block Diagrams , I&C Equipment List , Schedules, I/O list, SIL Assessment Report, Instrument Sizing Calculations, Instrument Loop Diagrams , Instrument Hook-up Drawings Layout drawings, wiring details, Equipment sizing, I&C MTO.
  • LER & Control room layouts & Field layouts for onshore Oil & Gas projects.
  • Guiding 3D modeler for 3D modelling activity. Also, Instrument database handling in SPI and Aveva Instrumentation.
  • Technical Bid Evaluation for all I&C Items including ICSS etc.
• Industry Specific Experience : Good knowledge of ADNOC standards, SHELL DEPs, International standards such as IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, IEC Standards.
• Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Graduate Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Chartered Engineer is preferred.
• HSE Capability: Good knowledge of Hazardous Area classification, Instrumentation Safety in design, Sustainable design engineering, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL.
• IT Skills : Computer skills with MS office and Instrumentation engineering / sizing software such as SPI, AVEVA, Instrucalc softwares, etc.
• People Skills : Good communication skill, Leadership skill and able to guide team working locally as well as for workshare with centre of excellence and integrated delivery, mentoring junior Engineers.
• Other : Good command on English language - verbal as well as writing skills, report writing, presentation to client.
