WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This position belongs to the Research & Development team for A2W & W2A heat pumps / chiller products.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Mechanical design of heat pumps using 2D / 3D CAD software: refrigerant / hydraulic / aeraulic circuit, structural parts, insulation, interconnection of 3rd party components.
• Coordinate with the design team to identify the best solutions to ensure product performance and reliability, as well as accessibility for maintenance and repair activities.
• Cooperate in the supervision of production activities, especially in the prototyping phase, and carry out activities as integrated with all other design inputs, within a project team (mechanical, electrical and software, thermodynamics).
• Interface with suppliers both in the design phase and in the construction phase of mechanical parts, with the aim of finding the cost-effective solution according to company quality standards.
• Creation of bills of materials for the mechanical structure of the unit, interfacing with the supply chain for the management of coding and maintenance of revisions.
• Draft the needed documentation to ensure that the product assembly operations are performed in the best possible way ensuring a high level of efficiency and quality, also according to the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
• Report in a structured way the activities of its competence, planning the workload and deadlines under the supervision of the R&D team leader.
• Participate in the analysis of non-conformities by giving willingness to evaluate and propose all resolving interventions for all company functions that are influenced by the specific design.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Experience in Technical Offices in HVAC sector companies.
• Technical knowledge of design for construction of bent sheet metal structures and piping of even complex refrigeration circuits.
• Proficient understanding and know how in processes, technologies, products or other relevant field of expertise.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Advanced user of SolidWorks and/or other 3D modelling software.
• Knowledge of refrigerant circuit, thermodynamics, hydraulics and related components (pumps, fans, valves, insulation technologies, finned / coaxial / brased plate exchangers).
• Advanced user with Excel calculation sheets and Simulation tools.
• English upper basic level.
