This Position reports to:
R & D Hub Manager, India

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for IEC Low Voltage Division based in Bangalore, India

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Utilize 3D modeling and detailing to create mechanical designs incorporating GD&T and drawing codes and practices.
• Prepare BOM in SAP for standard and non-standard motors. Perform tolerance and mechanical stress analysis. Support mechanical designs for New Product Introductions.
• Address manufacturing concerns or questions related to mechanical designs and/or bill of materials. Provide feedback and solutions to project managers and project engineers to meet customer needs.
• Create and maintain Item IDs, Modules, BOMs in Team center.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive improvements in efficiency, quality and/or customer satisfaction.
• Provide feedback for improvement and maintenance of the respective engineering tools and systems (i.e. symbol libraries, guidelines, reference documents, engineering system usability, etc.)

Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)

• Diploma/BE in Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 6 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of PLM software - Teamcenter Experience with 3D design including use of NX, Solid works, or equivalent design platforms.
• Familiar and have practical experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP, and other applicable software.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be self-motivated with a high level of creativity.
