Job Title: Package Superintendent (Cold End)
Project: Mozambique LNG Project – LNG Onshore
Location: Afungi Site, Northern Mozambique (Rotational)

An opportunity is available to join the Mozambique LNG Project, one of the largest energy developments currently under construction, with an overall investment of approximately $18 billion. The onshore facilities include two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 13 mtpa, LNG and condensate storage, marine loading facilities, utilities and extensive site infrastructure. EPC contracts are valued at approximately $9 billion, with construction estimated at $4 billion and peak site manpower expected to reach 15,000 personnel.

Reporting to the Area Manager within the ISBL team, the Package Superintendent (Cold End) will supervise construction activities within the assigned area and ensure all works are executed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with project requirements. The role involves close coordination with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors and project teams to ensure delivery in line with safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities:
promoting strong HSE leadership and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental requirements, monitoring contractor performance, identifying potential risks or deviations and supporting mitigation actions. The role also involves verifying contractor assurance and documentation, ensuring works are performed according to approved procedures and specifications, and coordinating with engineering, planning and other discipline teams to achieve project milestones. The position will also contribute to performance reporting and the capture of lessons learned.

Requirements:

• Candidates should hold a degree or diploma in a relevant engineering or technical discipline and have at least 10 years’ experience in oil and gas construction projects, ideally within large LNG or EPC developments.
• Experience in cold end LNG facilities is required, including installation, construction and integration of cryogenic equipment and systems such as LNG storage tanks, cryogenic piping, LNG transfer systems, boil-off gas systems, loading lines, insulation systems and associated process equipment.
• Applicants should demonstrate strong HSE leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders on complex construction sites. Fluency in English is required; Portuguese or French would be an advantage.

This is a rotational site-based role at the Afungi LNG development site in remote Northern Mozambique.
