Our client is a European start-up specializing in electronic warfare, secure communications, and precision localization technologies for the defense sector.

Key points of the position:

Reporting to the engineering team, you will design and develop the mechanical architecture of advanced defense systems, ensuring reliability, durability, and usability in demanding operational environments.

As a Mechanical Engineer, your missions will include:

• Developing rapid prototypes using 3D printing and in-house workshop tools to enable fast design iteration and testing,
• Designing complex mechanical housings with strong focus on ruggedness, tactical ergonomics, and usability in demanding field conditions,
• Optimizing designs for large-scale manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, or sheet metal fabrication,
• Ensuring modularity and maintainability so systems can be easily serviced or repaired in field conditions,
• Selecting materials capable of withstanding shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures while meeting RF transparency or EMI shielding requirements,
• Managing technical relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure quality and production scalability,
• Supporting environmental qualification and certification processes including MIL-STD-810 and IP67/IP68 testing.

Necessary skills:

• You must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field,
• You have experience developing hardware products from prototype stage to serial production, ideally in defense, aerospace, or ruggedized industrial environments,
• You are experienced in rapid prototyping and iterative design processes using tools such as 3D printing,
• You are highly proficient with modern 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX,
• You have strong understanding of design for manufacturing and mechanical reliability,
• Experience with human-machine interface design or ergonomic design for harsh environments is highly appreciated,
• Fluent German and English are imperative.

Eligibility for German security clearance (SÜ2/Ü2) is required : German or EU citizenchip mandatory.

Salary: 60-80k euros gross annual.
