Job Description:

Ready to Elevate Your Career with Sibelco?

As a Process Engineer in Sibelco's Technology and Innovation (T&I) team, you will be responsible for scaling up innovative low and negative carbon processes from laboratory to industrial scale.

You'll be a key player to scale up high-pressure solid-liquid-gas reactor processes and translate our experimental processes into industrial production. You collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to implement pilot and industrial scale production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation & Optimization
  
  • Evaluate laboratory scale results, providing feedback and input to the research programs.
  • Support our experimental design and advise on equipment setup.
  • Process Engineering Activities
  • Develop production processes at scale, with a particular focus on low and negative CO2 processes.
  • Drive process engineering projects from initial concepts to pilot scale and operational ramp-up.

• Scale-up & Engineering Collaboration
  
  • Work with external engineering firms and internal teams to scale lab-scale experiments to industrial-scale application.
  • Collaborate with Sibelco global engineering team on project management and mineral processing.

• Process Design & Improvement
  
  • Design new, innovative minerals and materials processes, or modify existing ones to improve safety, efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Research & Knowledge Management
  
  • Research and develop cost-effective solutions that enhance our ability to offer new solutions to customers.
  • Share best practices and knowledge with peers and stakeholders through communication, reporting and documentation in relevant systems.

What We're Looking For:

• A passion for introducing innovative low and negative CO2 process solutions into the industry.
• A Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemistry, or Geology (or equivalent by experience).
• Proven experience in scaling up high-pressure solid-liquid-gas reactor processes from lab to industrial scale.
• Experience in an industrial environment or engineering firms.
• Strong team-oriented mindset, adaptability, flexibility, and an advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written).
