Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for manufacturing applications.
• Select, install, qualify, and maintain laser welding equipment and associated tooling.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for weld defects and process deviations.
• Establish and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and specifications to ensure quality and repeatability.
• Conduct weld quality inspections, metallurgical analysis, and material characterization.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to integrate laser welding solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting industrial laser welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Deep understanding of laser-material interaction, metallurgy, weldability of various alloys, and weld defect analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD software for fixture design and experience with robotic programming for laser welding applications.
• Familiarity with metrology, destructive/non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and statistical process control (SPC) for weld quality assurance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic programming and automation for laser welding systems.
• Proficiency with weld simulation software (e.g., SYSWELD, ANSYS).
• Familiarity with advanced metrology techniques for weld inspection.
• Experience with welding exotic alloys or dissimilar materials.
• Formal training or certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
