Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can master complex process installations and enjoys working on innovative, sustainable technologies?

At RIFT, we are developing a completely new way to make industrial heat fossil-free with our Iron Fuel Technology. To take this technology from pilot installations to full-scale industrial application, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in the process industry.

In this role, you will design and develop mechanical systems for installations, including piping, pressure equipment, and components related to combustion and thermal processes. You will translate process concepts into technically robust and safe mechanical designs suitable for testing, pilot installations, and scale-up. As a senior member of the mechanical team, you will take responsibility for multiple project phases and act as a technical sparring partner for your fellow engineers. You will work closely with process engineers and other disciplines to further develop and optimize our installations.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of mechanical engineering and process installations and wants to contribute to an innovative and sustainable energy technology.

What you'll do as a Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Design and develop mechanical systems for installations, including piping, pressure vessels, valves, and components related to combustion and thermal processes.

• Translate process concepts into robust and safe mechanical designs suitable for testing, pilot installations, and industrial scale-up.

• Lead and manage multiple project phases, coordinating closely with process engineers and other disciplines.
• Act as a technical mentor and sparring partner for other engineers, sharing your expertise to strengthen the team.
• Identify and manage technical risks while proposing innovative and efficient solutions.
• Contribute to standardization of mechanical design practices across projects and installations.
• Stay at the forefront of technology by continuously applying new insights, methods, and best practices in mechanical engineering and process design.

Wat je meebrengt als Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Minimaal 10 jaar ervaring als Mechanical Engineer binnen de procesindustrie, zoals chemie, olie & gas, energie of vergelijkbare sectoren.
• Ervaring met proces- of thermodynamische installaties.
• Kennis van leidingwerk, drukvaten en mechanische componenten binnen procesinstallaties.
• Ervaring met relevante normen en codes zoals PED, ASME en EN13480
• Inzicht in thermodynamische processen en industriële procesinstallaties.
• Ervaring met 3D CAD software (bij voorkeur SolidWorks)
• Sterke technische analysevaardigheden en het vermogen om zelfstandig engineeringberekeningen uit te voeren.
• Bereidheid om kennis te delen en andere engineers te ondersteunen.
