You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

A little more about your role...

This role is suited to an engineer who has good working knowledge of the rolling stock lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, testing, commissioning and entry into service. You will operate in complex, multi-disciplinary delivery environments, supporting the coordination of engineering, commercial and operational inputs. You will support the delivery of rolling stock and rail systems projects across the asset lifecycle, working under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers. You will be trusted to manage defined work packages, maintain accurate data and records, and contribute to solving delivery problems in environments where requirements and constraints are not always fully defined. To support our clients, you will engage with stakeholders at all levels of business to understand their technical, operational or delivery challenges and be able to articulate these into clear and concise problem statements.

Responsibilities include...

• Support rolling stock OEMs on projects which vary from design, manufacture, testing, commissioning, introduction to service, and maintenance phases.
• Coordinate engineering inputs, tracking actions, and ensuring outputs are delivered to programme, quality, and safety requirements.
• Work with engineering documentation, configuration records, and technical data to support compliant delivery.
• Work with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to support configuration control and engineering data management.
• Engage with maintenance management systems to support planning, reporting, and performance insight.
• Support commercial and project management activities including raising invoices, controlling cost and basic forecasting.
• Coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and clients.
• Prepare clear, professional presentations, reports, and dashboards to communicate progress, risks, and issues.
• Operate effectively in ambiguous environments, applying judgement and structured problem solving.
• Contribute to quality, safety, and assurance processes in line with WSP and client standards.
• Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What we would be looking for you to demonstrate...

• Experience in a rolling stock manufacturing, maintenance, or rail engineering environment.
• Understanding of engineering delivery processes and lifecycle interfaces.
• Working knowledge of PLM and maintenance management systems.
• Basic understanding of project commercial controls, including invoicing and purchase orders, budgets and estimates to complete
• Ability to navigate and manage complex stakeholders' relationships and work collaboratively across disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation development.
• Logical, organised approach with attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience within the rail or rolling stock sector is essential.
• Experience in rolling stock business processes and systems is plus
