Job Description

MISSIONS

The sERVICE holder's overall responsibility is :
  • Accountable for the LNG PLANT Process Engineering studies including from Vendors and Licensors delivered or updated until the LNG Plant start-up.
  • Review and challenge the design changes and change orders from the EPC Contractors (Plant, Tank and Sohar package) ensuring process design consistency and operability.
  • Coordinate Process engineering activities with the other technical disciplines including operation ones (mechanical, electricity, instrumentation...) which implies interfaces management skills and leadership towards other packages.
  • Support the commissioning and start-up team as well as operations by technical assistance as required (simulation, sequence, transient case analysis, procedure, performances guarantee, etc).
  • Initiate and supervise specific process analysis when necessary or when required by the Project.
  • Support the process control schemes development and completion ensuring stable operation of the overall Plant (normal operating mode, degraded situation, maintenance...).
  • Provide process expertise for any technical audits required by the partners headquarters, banks and the insurance companies or Board of Directors
  • Participate to process meetings with Contractors and give Instructions/Orientations according to main project objectives.
  • Report to the engineering manager highlighting the concerns encountered in the performance of his/her duties.
  • Provide technical assistance as required to the Lead and Area Managers and Project Management Team.
  • Avoid contractor stand-by/delays by prompt response to engineering queries and request for waiver (if any) and unexpected technical issues, by a proactive and proficient approach.
  • Get knowledge of the Omani norms and practices and use it at its perimeter when relevant.
  • Prepare Lessons Learnt and Feedback report for his/her discipline.
  • Prepare REX and Lessons Learnt all along the FEED.
  • Contribute to personnel skills improvement and encourage knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to the advancement of working methods and tools within his/her speciality.

ACTIVITIES
1. To adopt and to demonstrate exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE, to respect Project HSE requirements/regulations and to ensure implementation of HSE rules.
2. To ensure that the design is developed until start-up in line with the Statement of Requirements.
3. To review and perform facilities process engineering studies & design, safety and technical reviews/audits and materials PO.
4. To set up and maintain work plans with the engineering contractor (if applicable; otherwise with internal organisation) to have all deliverables issued on time as per project schedule constraint.
5. To participate in the necessary technical arbitration in the electrical engineering in the event of conflicts of opinion, keeping all parties informed
6. To report to the engineering manager regularly and when decisions impacting the works or Engineering must be taken.
7. Ensure that reviews and comments of contractor's documents are performed in due time.
8. To propose actions as required for the proper execution of the activities under his/her responsibility.
9. To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)

OBSERVATIONS ON ACTIVITIES AND MISSIONS

The Service holder is accountable for:
- the performance of the LNG plant process in the continuity of the detailed engineering results,
- the control of eventual shareholder technical support (cryogenic expert and AGRU licensed expert),
- frequent technical alignment between Start-up team and Field operation when relevant
- communication to shareholders for process matter related

Qualifications

  • Process/Chemical Engineer with proven experience (> 10 years) with gas treatment and/or LNG plants detailed design, including Licensors.
  • Professional experience: several years of proven experience in EPSCC / operation stages of Gas treatment projects, including process simulation
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Knowledge of project development and methods used to submit dossier to state expertise, permitting process, technical approval.
  • Fluent in English


Additional Information

Start date: July 2026

Duration : 24 months

Location : Sohar, Oman for 2 years until Plant start-up and first LNG drop.
