Genesis Energies Norway creates value through executing conceptual engineering studies in the Oil & Gas and Energy Transition industries to enable a sustainable future for all of us. We are keen to hear from similarly enthusiastic engineers to be a part of this journey.

Genesis Energies Norway is currently looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join their team in either Oslo or Stavanger on a permanent basis.

At Genesis we integrate consulting and engineering to deliver strategic insights, empowering our clients to make high-impact early-stage decision. Process engineering is at the forefront of the conceptual studies we conduct and is playing a key part in our holistic approach to system integration.

In Norway we work across a diverse portfolio of studies allowing our employees to gain broad experience and stay enthusiastic in what they do day-to-day. This also provides excellent growth opportunities with exposure to the Oil & Gas, Energy transition, Renewables and Sustainable fuels sectors. With the growth planned for our Norway operations this scope will only continue to grow and we are looking for engineers that will excel in this diverse environment and are eager to develop strong commercial acumen alongside the technical challenges we encounter.

Typical tasks you can expect to be involved in with Genesis Norway include:
  • Process system design and optimisation for conventional oil and gas and cutting-edge energy transition projects
  • Process system modelling
  • Operations support activities (e.g. facility capacity rating, debottlenecking and benchmarking, lifetime extension and asset rationalisation)
  • Preparation of all typical process engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, Heat and Mass Balance etc) and Study Reports,
  • Contribute to Energy Efficiency, Technical Safety, Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Environmental Evaluations studies
  • Engage and integrate with a wide and highly competent multidisciplinary and international team across 15 locations
  • Lead areas of study scope and provide discipline engineering guidance to junior team members
  • Support and engage with clients through technical work and presentation of results


The successful candidate will support a wide range of clients on varied and interesting projects related to the energy industry. You will also interface with the wider Genesis organisation through interactions with other discipline teams and a range of clients in Norway and overseas.

Experience and skills required to succeed in this role:
  • Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or a similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
  • Experience or knowledge of process engineering principles and the approach to conceptual engineering studies
  • Strong Analytical skills with the ability to think outside the box
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and an enthusiasm for learning
  • Excellent teamwork abilities
  • Commercial acumen and desire to further develop these skills
  • High competency with specialist process engineering software (e.g. Hysys/Unisim, OLGA/Ledaflow)
  • Scandinavian language skills are a strong benefit to assist with further growth of the business across Norway, Sweden and Finland. Good English language skills are essential.
