This Position reports to:
Senior Engineering Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the to the Process Automation business in Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for:

You will be mainly accountable for:

• As a Project Engineer - Automation, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end engineering and execution of automation projects in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, and emerging process industries.
• You will independently execute projects from FEED stage through commissioning and handover, acting as a technical interface to end customers, while ensuring compliance with ABB quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards.

• Execute automation projects from FEED / Concept Engineering through Detailed Engineering, FAT, SAT, Commissioning, and Project Closure
• Deliver engineering scope in line with contract requirements, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and cybersecurity policies
• Act as technical focal point for customers, EPCs, and internal stakeholders
• Identify technical risks early and propose mitigation strategies
• Automation System Design & Engineering and Industrial Networking & Cybersecurity

• Design and implement solutions using industrial communication protocols:

Qualifications for the role

• Proven Project Engineer experience in automation projects
• Typically, 5-10 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated execution of end‑to‑end projects (FEED → Commissioning)
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals
• Willing to travel to abroad as per project requirements
• BE / BTech / Diploma in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, or equivalent.
