About the position
The Offshore Project Engineer within the Asset Retirement organization plays a critical role in supporting Chevron ENGINE's strategic objectives. This position is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and providing insights across multiple domains, including Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) estimates and assurances, project cost and schedule estimates, and engineering work package development. The role requires demonstrated experience in offshore oil and gas projects, cost and schedule estimating, and the ability to collaborate across geographies and functions to ensure successful Offshore project delivery for the Asset Retirement organization.
Key responsibilities
• Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO): Support ARO reviews for offshore projects, including tracking and validating assumptions to ensure standardization and accuracy. Responsible for overseeing ARO variance analysis across Offshore business regions.
• Engineering Work Packages: Develop engineering work packages for offshore decommissioning projects across multiple continents simultaneously.
• Standardization: Work collaboratively with the AR central teams to align on ARO estimation methodologies and assumptions and work to standardize approaches across the offshore portfolio.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple geographic regions to develop standardized protocols for offshore estimation, assurance, and work package development
• Prepare and present analytical reports to leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
About you
• Demonstrated experience in leading offshore decommissioning projects doing cost estimation, and decommissioning planning and engineering.
• Experience or familiarity with offshore well plug & abandonment operations, including logistics and cost estimations.
• Familiarity with asset retirement obligation (ARO) estimating, reporting, and assurance.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in offshore projects and/or operations - strong preference for experience in offshore oil and gas.
• Experience with offshore lifting campaigns providing oversight and technical review of lifting plans and calculations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to process, interpret and communicate data in the form of actionable information that enables efficient and informed decision making.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities - including projects and teams across multiple continents - and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
