Bredel is part of the UK based Watson-Marlow Fluid TechnologySolutions (WMFTS), a global player in the field of peristaltic pumps forchallenging fluid applications. WMFTS is part of the Spirax Group, listed onthe London Stock Exchange (FTSE 100 Index).
Bredel, based in Delden in the Netherlands, manufacturesindustrial hose pumps which are used worldwide in Food & Beverage, Mining,Water & Wastewater, and Process Industries. Product development is managedby the strategic business development group (SBD), a central functionsupporting all production companies.
Bredel employs around 65 professionals, including 10engineers. The engineering department works for both Bredel and SBD. Over theyears, Bredel has developed pioneering technology, securing a very strongposition in the market.
What does the job entail?
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in developingnew solutions in the field of peristaltic pumps and integration of drivesystems and control systems. You will use tools from your education, such asmaterial knowledge, mechanical calculations, production technology, controlengineering, and drive technology.
There is a strong emphasis on safe and environmentally friendlyproducts with competitive performance and cost price. With the manufacturingdepartment within walking distance, you can immediately get feedback on feasibilityof your design.
Product development is carried out according dedicated stage-gateprocess in which you work closely with the project manager and product manager.You plan your own activities in such a way that jointly set goals are achieved.
Besides classical mechanics, you will work with controltechnology and support the digitalisation of our products to enhancefunctionality. Knowledge of production technology and experience with computeraided manufacturing (CAM) is an advantage.

- Performing strength calculations, creating 3D designs and 2D production drawings.
- Preparing and assisting with testing and analysing results.
- Generate control engineering solutions for machines.
- Managing suppliers for parts or services.
- Drafting specifications and work instructions.
- Regular consultations with colleagues about content, next steps and planning.
Skills/Experience:
- Completed HBO or UT-WTB degree.
- You have knowledge of electric motors and frequency converters.
- You are familiar with fluid dynamics.
- You have an affinity and interest in control engineering.
- You are precise and critical in your own work and that of others.
- Availability between 32 and 40 hours per week.
