We are looking, on behalf of one of our clients in the energy sector, for an Electrical Material Engineer, based in Nanterre.
Electrical Material Engineer: What will your missions and responsibilities be?
You will be assigned to the follow-up of at least one of the following material requisitions:
• AC & DC UPS systems
• ECS (Electrical Control System)
You will perform the following tasks:
• Prepare and issue project deliverables related to electrical equipment, including but not limited to: technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, scope of supply, inspection and test plans, schedules, etc.
• Issue requisitions for inquiry and purchase in coordination with other operating centers and partners
• Review the compliance of bidders' proposals and prepare technical bid tabulations
• Ensure technical follow-up of requisitions (quality, schedule, technical compliance, variation orders, etc.)
• Check or approve deliverables related to the scope of the requisition
• Coordinate the execution of purchase orders with the Procurement team
• Comment on vendor documents
• Respond to COMPANY comments
• Review the QCP (Quality Control Plan) and test procedures
• Provide regular reporting to the Lead Discipline Engineer and their deputy regarding:
• Identify all required interfaces (internal, external, and inter-discipline) and coordinate with the Lead Discipline Engineer or their deputy
• Obtain necessary data from other operating centers, disciplines, and partners to produce deliverables
• Prepare for and participate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests)
• Provide design engineers with equipment data (from preliminary/estimated values to final vendor data) required for installation studies and related activities
• Interface with other equipment lead engineers (MV & LV switchgear, ECS, transformers, etc.)
• Identify and raise alerts regarding any changes introduced by the COMPANY or other parties
• Populate the SmartPlant Electrical database with all required vendor data
What profile and skills are required for this position?
• Significant experience (more than 5 years) in electrical equipment design in the Oil & Gas sector
• Experience in technical follow-up of vendors, including reporting (strong synthesis skills), vendor schedule analysis with milestone identification, progress monitoring, and the ability to anticipate and implement corrective actions in case of delays (on both vendor and contractor sides)
• Knowledge of engineering workflows
• Knowledge of IEC standards
• Fluent English (writing technical documents and meeting minutes, interfacing with partners and clients, verbal communication in audio/video conferences)
• Strong communication skills to manage interfaces with electrical team members and other disciplines
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL)
