- Entrepreneurial Spirit: We embrace change, think big, and push limits with passion.

Your Role

As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you will be part of our expert team of developers on battery management systems (BMS) and cell monitoring boards (CMB) which are among the world-leading ones regarding safety, features, and costs. As part of the hardware development team, you will be involved in all aspects of the development cycle for our mechanical components, with a specific focus on virtual validation. You will be responsible for the mechanical and thermal integrity of our products, performing the calculations and simulations necessary to meet rigorous automotive specifications. You will have a decisive influence on the technical concepts of our future products through your work in predicting performance under extreme conditions.

Your future tasks at a glance
  • Virtual Validation: Responsibility for (electro-)mechanical products from concept design to production release through advanced simulation.
  • Mechanical Analysis: Lead structural simulations focusing on Shock & Vibration to ensure durability against vehicle road loads.
  • Thermal Management: Provide technical leadership in the analysis and optimization of high current/high voltage devices with a strong emphasis on thermal management solutions.
  • Standard Compliance: Ensure product designs meet automotive standards such as ISO 16750 (Mechanical/Thermal), LV 124, and UN 38.3.
  • Testing & Correlation: Design and build test setups to validate simulation concepts and correlate virtual models with physical lab results.
  • Cross-functional Lead: Lead the development with electronics engineers to ensure requirements of the assembly are met, specifically regarding heat dissipation and PCB stress.

What you bring with you
  • Successfully completed university degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, electromechanical, or mechatronics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical development and simulation, with a preference for HV-components and battery electronics. Strong preference for experience simulating plastic and glass filled plastic structures.
  • Proficiency in CAD design and simulation tools (e.g., preferably Ansys, Star-CCM+, FESAFE or similar) for field reliability and design analysis.
  • Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing (injection molding, stamping) and how these processes affect simulation accuracy. Knowledge of Moldflow simulations is desirable.
  • Experience with environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for automotive and industrial products.
  • Highly motivated, willing to take ownership, and possessing strong communication skills in English and German.
