FPSO Electrical Engineer - China

Location: China (Yard-Based, Residential)
Contract: 12-Month Renewable
Rate: Day Rate (USD)

We are currently seeking a highly experienced FPSO Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a major offshore FPSO development. This is a residential, yard-based role in China, working within the FPSO engineering team and acting as the focal point for all electrical engineering activities across design, procurement, and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Oversight

• Lead and coordinate all electrical engineering activities across the FPSO scope
• Review contractor and subcontractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards
• Ensure all electrical documentation is issued on time and fit for purpose

Contractor & Interface Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for electrical discipline with EPC contractors
• Interface with hull, topsides, and mooring teams to ensure alignment across packages
• Coordinate with procurement teams for electrical equipment and materials

Technical Assurance

• Review technical queries, deviations, and derogations raised by contractors
• Identify design risks, constructability issues, and optimisation opportunities
• Ensure compliance with HSSE standards and engineering best practices

Project Delivery Support

• Monitor contractor progress and performance against schedule
• Participate in project reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, design reviews, audits)
• Support resolution of technical issues and propose corrective actions

Candidate Requirements

• Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil & gas or offshore projects
• At least 10 years’ experience on major project delivery (FPSO or similar)
• Strong background in electrical systems for offshore facilities
• Experience working with EPC contractors and multi-discipline interfaces
• Familiarity with international standards and large-scale project specifications
• Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English
