Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

• Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
• Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
• Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
• Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation.
• Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reports work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed.

Qualifications for the role

• Around 3 to 5 years of experience in port crane automation, heavy‑equipment automation, or similar industrial machinery environments,
• Understanding of control logic, interlocks, safety systems, and operational workflows for industrial crane equipment.
• Familiarity with AC and DC industrial drives system used in automated machinery; experience with ABB PLCs and drive products is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret single‑line diagrams, communication network diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Onsite commissioning experience in electrical control and automation systems, including system start‑up, functional testing, tuning, and verification.
• Diploma or higher in Electrical and Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering
• Effective communicator with strong teamwork capabilities, able to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
