Lifting Engineer – Offshore Projects
Location: Qatar
Initial 3-year contract

Role Summary
The Lifting Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all offshore lifting and non-routine installation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety, quality standards, and approved engineering designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage offshore heavy lifts and non-routine installations including topsides, jackets, pipelines, umbilicals, skids, tie-in spools, risers, and J-Tubes
• Review and approve contractor lifting plans, method statements, certificates, and load-out activities
• Oversee contractor performance to ensure compliance with project schedule, quality, and material requirements
• Provide guidance and technical support to contractors during engineering review and construction phases
• Participate in FEED and EPIC engineering workshops, including constructability reviews, SIMOPS, schedule risk analysis, 3D model reviews, HAZOP, and lifting plan reviews
• Act as a focal point for offshore lifting activities, coordinating with internal teams (Operations, PTS, Project) and external stakeholders (Contractors, third-party agencies)
• Monitor and report on contractor performance, man-power deployment, plant and equipment movements, and construction progress
• Identify construction risks, propose mitigation measures, and ensure implementation at site
• Maintain records of daily progress, report anomalies, and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure contractor compliance with work permits and project-specific requirements
• Support development and enhancement of corporate standards, specifications, and guidelines

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma, or Diploma in Mechanical, Petroleum, or related Engineering discipline
• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in offshore heavy lifts, non-routine lifts, and installation for EPIC projects such as oil & gas production platforms, wellhead platforms, jackets, and subsea installations
• Proven experience in FEED and EPIC projects with strong capability to review and approve contractor deliverables
• Strong knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental awareness
• Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules, and drawings
• Strong leadership skills with experience supervising multinational, multi-disciplinary contractor teams
• Excellent command of English (oral and written)
• Computer literacy and proficiency with relevant project management tools
