HSSE Manager - Offshore Wind Project

Location and Working Arrangement

• Project-based role with potential travel to offshore and site locations

Overview
An international energy organisation is seeking an experienced HSSE Manager to lead health, safety, security and environmental performance on a major offshore wind project. This role is critical to ensuring safe planning and execution across complex offshore and marine construction activities, with a strong focus on contractor management and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HSSE leadership, governance, and oversight across offshore and associated project activities
• Identify, assess, and manage HSSE risks related to marine operations and high-risk construction activities
• Review and challenge contractor HSSE plans, procedures, and risk controls
• Support contractor selection, onboarding, and readiness from an HSSE perspective
• Monitor HSSE performance and drive continuous improvement throughout project execution
• Advise project leadership on HSSE matters, including risk management, escalation, and decision-making
• Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations, industry standards, and internal HSSE frameworks

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Recognised HSSE qualification such as Industrial Safety Engineer or equivalent
• Auditor certification (ISO 45001 and or ISO 14001)
• Minimum 10 years of HSSE experience within offshore wind, onshore wind, oil and gas, marine construction, heavy industry, or similar high-risk environments
• Demonstrated experience managing HSSE across procurement and contracting phases, including pre-qualification, tender evaluation, and contractor oversight
• Proven experience working as a Project HSSE Manager engaging with clients, partners, contractors, and subcontractors
• Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations and frameworks relevant to large-scale construction and energy projects
• Familiarity with international HSSE standards and guidelines such as IOGP and industry best practices
