Senior Project Engineer - Civil

Location: Doha, Qatar

Contract: Until December 2030

Work Arrangement: Office-based, 5 days per week

Overview

An established engineering and construction organisation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead and coordinate civil engineering projects across onshore and offshore areas. This role offers the opportunity to manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee project execution from inception to handover, and contribute to high-profile infrastructure developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university; higher degrees advantageous
• Membership in a recognised professional engineering or project management body is a plus

Experience

• Minimum of 12 years' experience in engineering, project management, and execution of civil engineering projects
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineers during Feasibility, Concept Optimization Studies, FEED, and EPIC phases
• Strong communication, team-building, and reporting skills, including presentation and meeting management

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate project teams to deliver complete project management services for onshore and offshore projects from inception to completion and handover
• Prepare and implement Project Execution Plans and QHSE Plans for assigned projects
• Monitor and participate in planning, cost control, budgeting, contract administration, progress reporting, change management, and gate approval processes
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve cost-effective designs through timely resolution of technical and engineering issues
• Support tender preparation, tendering processes, evaluation of tenders, and provide recommendations to Tender Committees
• Generate and maintain project risk registers, ensuring risks are actively managed and mitigated
• Interface with end users, government and statutory authorities, and other third-party stakeholders including joint ventures
• Support processing and resolution of contract variations and contractor claims
• Participate in the review and development of organisational procedures and guidelines as assigned
• Mentor junior engineers and local talent, providing on-the-job training to help them reach their full potential
