Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing various mechanical engineering aspects of energy and water projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and construction phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.

Your Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)

1. Project Planning
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and review mechanical engineering project plans.
  • Ensure alignment of mechanical engineering activities with project objectives and timelines.

2. Design and Analysis
  • Prepare detailed designs and specifications for mechanical engineering components.
  • Conduct analysis, simulations, and feasibility studies as needed.

3. Equipment Selection and Sourcing
  • Select appropriate equipment and materials based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source high-quality and cost-effective components.

4. Construction Oversight
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to address and resolve on-site engineering issues.

5. Quality Assurance
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures for mechanical engineering components.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with industry standards.

6. Budget and Cost Management
  • Collaborate with project managers and cost engineers to develop and manage mechanical engineering budgets.
  • Monitor and control costs to ensure projects stay within budget constraints.

7. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of mechanical engineering activities.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and documentation for project management.

8. Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as a liaison between the mechanical engineering team and other project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on mechanical engineering progress and challenges.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in the energy or water industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
