Additional information
Expected compensation for this role is between $100,200 - $137,700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.

Your role
Within the Hydropower & Dams team, you will:
- Participate in the assessment of behaviour and design studies of dikes and dams (stability, seepage and deformation analyses, internal erosion risk and control, foundation study, drafting, optimization and variant studies, instrumentation).
- Be responsible for the geotechnical discipline on multidisciplinary hydropower projects, including excavations, embankment dams, cofferdams, channels, slope stabilization, foundation preparation and treatment, etc.
- Participate in dam and dike safety assessment studies.
- Prepare technical reports, plans and specifications.
- Lead the work of technicians and designers for the production of plans, 3D models and quantity estimates.
- Carry out site supervision, which may require stays of a few weeks.
- Participate in the planning, monitoring and interpretation of geotechnical investigations.
About you
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in civil or geological engineering and a Master's degree in geotechnics and is a registered engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario or eligible to be; registration with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an advantage.
- Has at least 2 years of relevant experience in the design, construction or safety assessment of embankment dams.
- Has knowledge of software such as GeoStudio and RocScience suites and knowledge of software such as FLAC, Plaxis, Geotec, Leapfrog is an asset.
- Is familiar with Ontario and Québec regulations and standards and guidelines specific to the field (Canadian Dam Association, USBR, FERC, FEMA, ICOLD, etc.).
- Communicates effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Bilingualism (French, English) is an asset.
