Principal Risk Coordinator

Overview
A senior opportunity for an experienced risk professional to lead and embed best-in-class risk management practices across complex, large-scale EPC/EPCI projects. This role is critical in driving data-led decision making through advanced quantitative risk analysis, supporting both project delivery and broader portfolio performance. You will play a key role in shaping governance frameworks, improving risk visibility, and ensuring robust mitigation strategies across multiple projects. Experience with FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end risk management across projects from tender through execution and handover
- Design and implement a portfolio-wide risk framework to consolidate and assess cross-project exposure
- Produce regular reporting on contingency sufficiency, emerging risks, trends, and priority actions
- Establish and maintain project risk management plans across execution and bid phases
- Facilitate risk workshops, reviews, and multidisciplinary sessions to identify and assess risks and assumptions
- Drive quantitative risk analysis including schedule and cost risk assessments and expected monetary value analysis
- Support proposal development by quantifying risk exposure to inform pricing, contingency, and schedule strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders on management of change processes to evaluate associated risks and impacts
- Plan and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with risk management standards and policies
- Provide training and guidance to improve risk awareness and capability across project teams
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to support effective communication of risk insights
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale EPC or EPCI projects within energy, oil and gas, or similar industries
- At least 5 years of experience in project risk management with a strong focus on quantitative analysis
- Proven experience using Monte Carlo simulation tools for schedule and cost risk analysis
- Strong understanding of integrating risk into project planning, cost control, and financial forecasting
- Experience supporting risk management activities during bid and proposal stages is advantageous
- Knowledge of project scheduling and cost estimation methodologies is beneficial
- Experience on at least one FPSO project is highly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Experience with quantitative risk analysis software such as Safran or similar tools
- Professional certifications in risk or project management are advantageous
